David Jaubert Architect is an architecture and design practice based in New York with twenty years of experience shaping spaces across a diverse range of typologies from intimate residential interiors to complex urban projects.

Our practice is guided by the belief that thoughtful architecture can enrich daily life and serve as a catalyst for positive transformation within society. We embrace the opportunity to engage with projects of all types and scales, leveraging our experience to bring unique insight to both cultural and residential endeavors.

We believe the most successful results emerge through an open dialogue and a collaborative process built on strong partnerships with our clients and teams. While an underlying thread runs through our work, we approach every commission as a singular opportunity, responsive to its particular set of goals and constraints, resulting in a distinct shared vision with our clients.

Our work is defined by a commitment to research and analysis which forms the foundation for our conceptual design framework. Together with invaluable contributions from our collaborators, this process informs our method of distilling the complex array of parameters inherent in each project into clear and coherent architectural strategies.

We are devoted to following sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. A deep curiosity for the exploration of materials and the influence of their effects on spatial perception underscores our work. These sensorial considerations, synthesized with careful attention to detail, form the atmosphere of our projects.

Ultimately, our dedication to architecture is rooted in the desire to create places that support the well-being and success of those we serve, and to create meaningful contributions to the vitality of thriving communities.

David Jaubert, AIA
Principal

At the heart of David’s approach to creating space is his interest in photographing architecture and methodically composing points of view. This human-centered perspective, combined with the ongoing study of emerging design and fabrication methods, forms a sensibility attuned to both the experiential and tactile aspects of space making.

Before establishing his own practice, David Jaubert served as director at the internationally acclaimed firm Toshiko Mori Architect, honing his expertise over fifteen years across a diverse range of projects. His professional background also includes experience with the Office of Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam and the multidisciplinary agency dbox in New York, where he focused on architectural visualization and art direction.

David has received recognition in international design competitions and contributed articles to leading publications. His work has appeared in A+U, Architect’s Newspaper, Dezeen, Domus, Mark Magazine, and The Plan, among others.

He earned his Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Early exposure to the profession came through working at an architectural print shop, where he handled blueprint reproductions and built computer systems and networks for architecture offices.

David Jaubert is a licensed architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
